XYZ - Surrender to the Text

xyz is an intervention into the quiet hallucination of reading. Engaging the festival theme "Inside Out," the work transposes the private, internal rhythm of the mind onto a public surface. In traditional reading, the "Inside"—our internal monologue—acts as a gatekeeper, slowing comprehension down to the speed of speech. xyz inverts this hierarchy.
Projected as a large-scale video installation, the piece utilizes Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) to fire words at the eye at speeds exceeding 1000 wpm. This high-contrast, rapid-fire delivery creates a visual pulse that naturally draws the gaze of the passerby, turning the silent act of processing into a visible, chaotic event.
