For this year’s festival, we are curating a group exhibition responding to the theme OUT/SIDE/IN, using the garden and grounds of FabLab Neukölln as both inspiration and an extension of the exhibition space. As we're a makerspace, we're inviting external artists to propose maker-themed artworks for the exhibition, specifically works that engage with technology, code, crafting, textiles, sensing, mechatronics, 3D printing and/or other such techniques.
To give an idea, the planned centerpiece of the exhibition is a free-hanging circuit sculpture composed of modular nodes referencing data from the outdoor surroundings. Collaborators and the public will be invited to create sound-, image-, or movement-based nodes using brass wire, electronics, and soldering techniques inspired by circuit sculpture practices. As nodes are added, the sculpture will evolve throughout the festival.
To apply, please submit a short description and a sample of your work, technical requirements, and artist bio
